Biography
Alen Slavica is Full Professor and Vice Dean for Science and International Cooperation at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Zagreb, Croatia. He is engaged in different national and international scientific projects such as “Wildlife health monitoringâ€, “Applied biomedical research of game species in Croatiaâ€, â€Dental pathology of wild mammalsâ€, ''Breeding of European brown hare (Lepus europeus) in small farms'' and ''Lobsters farm breeding''. He has published three books, 85 peer-reviewed papers and over 120 conference abstracts. Alen is a member of World Aquaculture Society, Wildlife Diseases Association, EWDA and CSP, and a permanent member of the Commission to assess the impact on the environment at the Ministry of Environmental and Nature Protection. As a member of the Organizing Committee he took part in the organization of several international symposia, and currently he is president of the scientific committee of the International Congress 'Veterinary Science and Profession'. Alen is also a member of the Editorial Board of ‘Veterinarski Arhiv’.
